Prosper, Thrive, Grow!!!

 "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

Poor Imitations

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2
            Superheroes used to be people that children could look up to. Sadly, no more. The Captain America comics just revealed that he's been working for Hydra all along. They've been planning this bombshell since they began publishing the new comics in 2014. Like one person said, "Why take him out of ice if that's what you're going to do with an American icon?" He was originally designed in WWII as a form of encouragement. He represented America, and it's battle against Nazi Germany. Good winning over evil. He's only the latest loss though in a very long line of lost superheroes, but sadly, he carries our country's name. It's only a matter of time before the comic version makes it to the movies. It's already come out that they will rate the next Wolverine movie R. What do superheroes of today have left to offer children? If a "hero" will turn on his country and everything he stands for, he's not super or worth mimicking. When movies of "heroes" become so violent, vulgar, and obscene, that only an adult is allowed in to view them, they've lost their way, and no longer encourage a child to choose right over wrong even if there is a cost. I realize this only reflects our culture and the world as it is today as it falls apart, but it is sad to see an era come to an end. Thankfully, the Christian parent has another option. The true hero that will never change, who will always be there, makes no mistakes, and that their child really can meet and have a personal relationship with, Jesus.
            Our earthly "superheroes" were a poor imitation of the real one to start with. Jesus came to earth, suffered, died, took all our sins and the punishment we deserved, and rose again, defeating death, so that we could have the gift of Salvation and live eternally with Him. No longer separated from God. No "superhero" will ever be able to match that.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Romans 3:22-25
